In good company at the Travvy awards

Recently, we found ourselves in very good company at the Travvy awards. But first things first - what's a Travvy?

What's a Travvy?

The Travvy awards are put on by TravelAllianceMedia company and voted on by travel agents. The idea is to honor the travel industry by those that know the industry the best - travel agents. There's lots of different categories from best Airline consolidator to best Travel technology.

It's held in New York City's beautiful Gotham Hall in late January to coincide with the NYC Travel show. Not only is it great recognition for the winners, but it provides lots of media exposure to all nominees. We heard several of the nominees say they had over 20 media interviews in the subsequent days. And it's fun - it's a black tie affair with great food and open bar. They even had some fun entertainment - an a cappella group named Range. What's not to like?

...and the Travvy award winner is: AmaWaterways

Kristen and Rudi accept their awards at the Travvy's

We were invited to sit at the AmaWaterways table. This was such a great honor to be sitting with Kristin Karst and Rudi Schreiner, the owners of AmaWaterways. It speaks highly of our relationship with them. And it gave us front row seats for the entire event.

Kristen and Rudi were busy as they won 5 Gold Travvy awards. No other river cruise line came close to this many wins. So it seems we're not the only travel agents that think AmaWaterways is so wonderful to work with!

...and the Travvy award winner is: Avoya Travel

Avoya announced as best Host Agency

We also met up with Brad Anderson, one of the principle owners of Avoya Travel, our host agency. Brad was there to accept two gold Travvy awards including Best Host Agency. We've been with Avoya for 8 years now and love working with them. The fact that they model their motto of "professionalism and integrity" is one of the reasons why. And that starts with Brad and Van Anderson.

In good company

So between recommending the top river cruise company and affiliating with the top Host Agency, we were in very good company indeed. Congratulations to AmaWaterways and Avoya Travel!

But there's more. Our recommended travel insurance company, Allianz, also won a Gold Travvy award.

To understand our relationship with Avoya, check out our Go Astro Travel and Avoya - what's in a name post.

And to learn about river cruises, there's lots of resources on our River cruise blog page. You'll see frequent mentions about AmaWaterways.

Or better yet, contact us directly. We'd love to tell you more about river cruising with AmaWaterways and all the advantages of affiliating with Avoya Travel.
