Travel trends Fall 2020 edition

Caribbean sunset

As we endure the travel restricted time of COVID 19, let's examine some future travel trends.  Here's  a few that various Travel Agent magazines are noting:

  • Safety first :  OK, this one is easy.  But  the suppliers and destinations that can convince travelers that they take hygienic and safety standards seriously, through specific actions, will be ahead of the game.
  • Fewer Crowds:  It will take time to fully ramp back up to speed.  In the meantime, there will be less tourists in general. Combine that with social distance mandates and the result is less crowded conditions.  Maybe it's time to visit a place that you've put off because of over crowding?
  • Togetherness:  While before many vacations were to "get away", in the future vacations will be times to "get together".  Months of isolation mean that togetherness on vacation has new meaning.  This also means that multi-generational travel will continue to trend up.  And certainly groups of friends traveling together will be a strong trend.
  • Active vacations:  While expeditions have been trending for the last several years, people will seek more active vacations even in resorts and more traditional settings.  The emphasis will be on authentic experiences, rather than mere sightseeing.

Do any of these trends speak to you?  If so, speak to me so we can plan your next vacation experience.
