What do you do on an 18hr flight to pass the time? Well if you're lucky you sleep! They start meal service as soon as they reach cruising altitude which is about 45 minutes to an hour into the flight. The menu was lovely with plenty of choices but after our 28hr delay and leaving close to midnight I was not very hungry. That said, I found the food to be plentiful and very tasty. My favorite was the fresh fruit bowl at breakfast. You could also order snacks delivered to your seat throughout the flight.
The business class seats fold forward. The flight attendants do it for you and they also make up your bed. It was the most comfortable mattress I have slept on in the air however because it was so flat I needed extra pillows to keep my head elevated (acid reflux suffers you know what I am talking about). We found the service to be outstanding. Very attentive in all classes of service. Our guests that were in the skycouch seats in the economy section were very happy with their seats. Premium economy guests were also pleased noting that the seats were very comfortable with a good recline.
The entertainment was just ok, they did not have a lot of movies that were of interest but I did enjoy some of the New Zealand travel shows that they offered and they had a ton of great pod casts.
We're off to explore Auckland!
